I would hope that the dealer would do the following as a matter of course, but you might want to check that they:

Just taken some photos of the rust on the tow bars etc, so whilst looking under the car I thought that I would have a nose, where I noticed more rust on the front suspension componets (uploaded some photo's) my car was registered at the end of Jan 07, now I am being OTT or is this normal. (Please bear in mind that I have never taken this car off road). At present I can only compare this to my wifes motor (Citroen C3) which is a few months older but the suspension parts are rust free, in fact the whole underneath of the car is. |

I understand that ex-demo LRs are graded depending on the amount of off-road work they've done, to differentiate between dealer's demonstrators and ex-LR Experience cars. It might be worth asking your deler what your vehicle was graded as. |

Are you looking for another Freelander, or is it "Once bitten, twice shy"?

As far as the freelander no way might look for a 2 year disco that \I can get looked after by my old mechanic rather than a main dealer, Land Rover Uk and the Two Dealers that I have dealt with have left a bad taste.... |

As mentioned in my PM, be careful with D3. I had similar problems to those you have experienced with a TDV6 S model. Decided to go for the FL2 on the basis it is a less complicated design and therefore less to go wrong, as well as being easier to maintain. If you can afford it, I would recommend sticking with FL2 but go for a new one and ensure the dealer is under no illusions that the thing will be rejected should any problems occur. Under UK law, you have up to 30 days to reject products with significant issues. |
