Really, the official is 37mpg for car without the push/start button and 42mpg with it. 23 is not something I would touch. |

My best figures are around 41mpg. This is, for example, on a 450 mile round trip taking it steady, and in a manual model. I don't often clock below 30mpg over an extended period unless I'm doing nothing but short trips. At around 30-60mph on the flat it's actually pretty economical (40mpg+). Above that, it's poor aerodynamics zap the economy (30-33mpg). And of course, sat in traffic, it's as bad as any car (except the stop/start MY10). |

The stop/start on mine has not stopped for the last 2 weeks due to the freezing weather. It did stop yesterday with the temperature show 6C. Today 3C and not stopping. My average 34mpg is going to drop as trip showing 30mpg over the last 300 miles compared with 36mpg previously at 300 miles.

To expect more than 30mpg from such a vehicle isn't realistic in my view.

I used to get about 38 to 40 out of my 07 manual with a best fill to fill of 42.5. my new auto has now covered 3000 miles and averages 33.5 hoping to do better when the weather warms up a bit and the car loosens up. |

Hi Hamm888. Yeah I must admit I love Skodas. I currently have the Octavia VRS which is now 8 years old and has had the grend sum of nothing go wrong despite the thrashing i give it. I thought about the Scout but wasnt sure of its credentials of road. My wife would also go for that as its an estate thats good for the pram. Ill check this out mate and thanks again. |

Having owned a FL2 since Sep this year with the "e" engine I can offer the following. Keeping below 70, but above 60 gives me 43mpg over a 360 mile journey. I find that dropping below 60 seems to loose momentum and a consequental decrease in economy. Clearly above 70 throw ££s down the filler neck. With the traffic density I am driving in this speed range is realistic to avoid the rush to wait syndrome. BTW most of this is done with the cruise control on.

FL2 2010 model HSE auto. If I drive conservatively I get 34mpg (33 mile round trip on M-ways which are mostly either jammed up or road works - M5-M6). Last week on a trip to and from Essex, I put my foot down a lot on the M-ways (clocking around 90mph) and I got about 28-29mpg for that tank. |

I get just over 25mpg out of my auto diesel. Hate to say it but my X5 SD diesel auto gives me 31.7. Not bad for such a heavy car. 2007 FL2 SE Diesel Auto
