Easily done - all 4x4's are called SUV's here as I guess they are in other places. Bit of cheek really when SUV name is also used for smaller less capable vehicles as well as the biggest most expensive models. Best to refer to our Freely's as a Land Rover or just a 4x4 - gives them a bit more status over the competition 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Here in CH owners generally refer to their "Land Rover or Range Rover", and not Freelander/Defender/Discovery. However in our family we've adopted the term "Landi" out of due deference to Swiss German dialects, where the addition of an "li" or "i" at the end of a word can politely indicate "baby or smaller" person or model. So we say our Landi. At the moment mother and daughter are trying to agree on a name for "Landi". The gender is also being fought over. |
