We managed three bookings;
Lakes x2, and Bunree Scotland. Will CL or commercial site the rest. Club site booking for weekends at less than 6 months notice is getting to be a farcical waste of Censored time.
Just got to pick the new Swift up next week Wink

Fish and chips from East Ayton chippy are bloomin marvelous Mr Pinks, they are our 'local'.

I lkie the site we have booked, not far to go and with the trips been bank hols they can be fully booked up so playing it safe

Which Lakes site did you choose Question , i wanted Windermeres but it was fully booked the weekend i wanted, so I might look towards forum members Eskdales site instead

Idea CG you could hire a wood pod for your family that weekend and the Mrs can see how we caravaners live Idea

i will keep the chippy in mind, and let the grand parents know as they are there through the week and i'll be there the final weekend Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Troutbeck in the North Lakes is our preferred choice, nice site but 2 miles from nearest pub, about 8-12 miles from Keswick and Penrith, its quiet but gives us a good base to go and do whatever we want. Access is easy from the A66 as well if all the roads get put back in for next year after the recent flooding Crying or Very sad

In the South lakes we generally use Park Coppice at Coniston as the others are usually booked solid from the day they open the web site up. It is undergoing a major overhaul over the winter so will be interesting to see what things are like, (it was a bit dated facilities wise) It is set in a national trust wood within walking distance (1.5 miles) of the lake and village, sadly not staggering distance to the pub though Rolling Eyes

I might look at park coppice again

I called in when passing the other year and it was a little dated to say the least, but if over hauled might be worth another look. Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Quoting the CC website;

"Investing in our future
Published: 01 December 2009

The Caravan Club is making improvements across the network for 2010, including the largest investment The Club has ever made in redeveloping a site at Park Coppice. The £2.6m project will refurbish all three toilet blocks, relay the roadways and hardstandings and build three new play areas. The site will also benefit from improvements to drainage, services and access."

If this helps

I was trying to think of something that was critical but not over-offensive.

I'm weakening - on Monday I had a trip in a grey fl2 (with light guards and a body kit Evil or Very Mad ) Embarassed I kept my head down so nobody saw me. Laughing At work

Bunree, went there about four years ago and will return, must have one of the best scenic views around absolutely fantastic.
Only booked for Easter so far a few nights in Dorset for us. Didn't want to get greedy and have to hear about sites already fully booked.

Nick, Beechwood Grange is fully booked for Easter a already along with Rowntree Park and that includes all the later Bank Holidays and Xmas also? p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior
