Wow, you flew on the AN225, I've yet to see it in the flesh, I have contacts around the UK primed to give me a heads up if they know its coming in so I can be airside wherever it arrives. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!

avtur - I see you have set your location as the Station - I used to live in said village up until 1991 - and still bank about 3 or 4 pixels from your Members Map Location - if you've been in CH any length of time there's bound to be at least one person you know who I do. Steve N | 21MY Defender (on order) | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Hi SN, Here we go with another six degrees of separation .... Can tell you many stories about the bank to which you refer .... However, Romiley is my true home, the family home has been there for 53 years; have lived in CH for past 14 years but still have other family based in Romiley.

Would expect between the two locations we can find some common ground ... try SK6 4PU in Google maps ... yes its a pub ... lets see where we go from there !!!!!!!!!

Cheers

another tale of six degrees ...

Earlier this week a good friend at work was traveling from his home near Glasgow to a hotel near Heathrow Airport for a meeting with works HR representative; he is being made redundant against his wishes so not a good time for him.

On the plane from Glasgow to Heathrow he takes a window seat, there is a young lady sat in the isle seat on the same row leaving the middle seat empty, he places his newspaper on the empty seat. In flight young lady unpacks a folder containing notes and letters, she turns to my friend and asks if he minds her using the centre seat to spread her notes around, no problem he says.

She put down a letter which clearly displays our company logo, my friend couldn't help but react; the young lady noticed this and they started a conversation. Turns out she is a graduate seeking employment with our company and is traveling to a graduate recruitment event which our company is running at a hotel near Heathrow .... yes the very hotel he is heading for.

So in one meeting room she is being interviewed with a view to stating a career with the company ... and just a couple of doors away he is having a less than amiable conversation about forced redundancy after 20+ years with the company ... strange or what... Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!
