United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Baltic Blue
Guy Salmon (Leeds)

Just thought I'd give a vote of Thanks to Guy salmon in Leeds.

Booked my car in last week for a couple of minor faults to be rectified;
1) Rattle from front suspension
2) Software update to insure against early transmission error and radio prolems
3) Investigation into missing electrical connection to side rear demister

All sorted out apart from demister which they said needs a new side window to sort. Window ordered.

Despite me not buying the car from them, they were very courteous, gave me a nice FL2 auto as free courtesy car and washed/hoovered the car out prior to collection.

Thanks "guys"

Prior to my FL2 I when I was looking for my previous car I went to Guy Salmon, Told what model I was looking for and went for a test drive in one.

Instead of working out a deal on the car and model i wanted, he just wanted to push a special edtion model on to me. I think this sort of sales person i not worth it and walked out.

Bought a Kia Sportage instead, If you look and my picture to the left you can see what the wife did to that,

Anyway, at least the FL2 was released in the meantime and I upgraded to my SE TD4

The otal came to £283 which is very fair it was the first fl2 they have serviced and they lookedv up the price on a disc from landrover is it a coincidence that £283 is a numerical anagram of £382

Yep!! when the delear told me he said they hadn't done any yet so they where checking the price which seemed high.

Can't believe they hadn't done any give the Fl2 came out at the end of November 2006?

I was extemely disappointed with new car sales at Guy Salmon Leeds. I bought their demonstrator Discovery 1 in 1999 when they were getting their new D2 demos in. When I planned the FL2,and went to see them, they offered me a very poor trade-in on my 2004 G4 Discovery which the saleman agreed he could not believe the mileage judging by the condition. The very brief search for an ex-demo or stock vehicle to the spec I wanted ended with "it will have to be a new order" and there was no hope of a discount either.

I got a much better deal with Ripon Land Rover who offered me £2500 more trade in or a decent discount for no part-ex, which is what I did. I wanted some extras including a tow bar and not only got a good package price but also no mention of fitting charges for the tow bar and electrics. Handover was good and the car was sparkling!

We will see how they deal with my vibration concern next Friday so I'll start a thread on them after that

Cheers

Yes - nice guy and very enthusaistic about his job. He made me a good first offer and we then haggled a bit over extras. When my delivery date slipped (bit annoying after I had timed my private sale to perfection) Howard fixed me up with a recent traded in Disco as a loan car to keep me mobile. I just had to put it on my insurance.

Glyn Norman actually did the handover because Howard was away on summer holiday when my car arrived. All went OK except load space mat fitted when load space protector agreed with Howard and there was a finger print INSIDE the perspex on the rear number plate. Glyn got the right load area protection in 3 days and new number plate fitted at the same time while I had a cuppa! Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
