England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

Had the car at Guy Salmon today re. the screen washers, it turns out a new pump is required! its going to be sorted under the warranty so thats OK. The technician told me its the first time they'd had to replace this pump on a FL2!

Whilst I was there I also asked about an ECU update, as I have read on the forum about people getting increased Mpg, but he told me it would make no difference what so ever to the performance or economy of the car, its only the emmisions that are altered!

Its also having an update/recall on the alarm system, something to do with a common fault? cant say I have had any probs with the alarm, but hey it's free Thumbs Up

How could you adjust the emissions via software without effecting performance/economy ?

More dealer bull Censored
There are a number of documented owner experiences over the years where MPG has changed (for better and worse) after an ECU upgrade.
