Hand tapper bolt required

Recently had to re-tap my Al-Ko Wheel Secure receiver due to accidentally cross threading it

Al-Ko Send you out a tapper to do this FOC, but take a £40 deposit just in case you think about not sending it back.

I fancy having a tapper in my caravan toolbox, just in case it happens again and wondered where to get it from Question

It would need to be exactly the same as what al-ko have sent to match up threads, as i don't want to be cutting the wrong sized thread or the bolt wouldn't match etc etc

I haven't a clue on this stuff Embarassed

the case Al-ko sent says M20X2.5 HSS ISO-6H TAP

Any (Constructive) advice appreciated Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Bottom, Second, Taper determine the bluntness of the tap

blind hole? use a bottom tap

through hole use a second tap

new hole use a taper then a second then a bottom

but you are not repairing the threads with this tool just cleaning out the damage, cross thread it again and the thread might be terminally damaged in that case you will need this website http://www.hotels.co.uk/ easy peasy At work

Cheers

Looking at the box it came in its says second on it, i presume its a 'second' one you mention

the thread starts blunt and flat, then starts to get pointed & sharp a little further up, (about 5 threads up) Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The 2.5 (2.5mm) is the pitch between the threads so it's quite a coarse thread by the sounds of it.

Anyway, where U been Sean, haven't seen you here for a while Question ______________________

All ammunition about the dangers and pitfalls of vanning gratefully received Thumbs Up It all helps keep Mrs G's vanning ideas at bay. I cant wait until I tell her I would need a couple of the vans kitchen cupboards to store essential tools. Oh and she would need to take plenty of swarfega and hand towels so I could wash up after mending the van yet again Laughing

No tool box needed when I go here later this month. http://www.coquetcottages.co.uk/index.php/...pmjOeGyZMb At work
