if it fits in your ear with three or four taps with a lump hammer then it is the correct one At work

The 2.5 (2.5mm) is the pitch between the threads so it's quite a coarse thread by the sounds of it.

All ammunition about the dangers and pitfalls of vanning gratefully received It all helps keep Mrs G's vanning ideas at bay. I cant wait until I tell her I would need a couple of the vans kitchen cupboards to store essential tools. Oh and she would need to take plenty of swarfega and hand towels so I could wash up after mending the van yet again
