You could drop the aux connector out of it's hole, then run you 3.5mm phono lead plugged into it from there to the glovebox, this is basically how autoaudio in London (sho CHPR use) did mine using a Kensington iPod kit, it uses a cigar lighter socket as power, but they appear to have picked up power somewhere in the dash which I haven't found yet

Good thinking. I ran the 3.5mm cable from the glove box along the tunnel to the aux socket. May try their approach now Indus Silver
