VW / Audi dealers have the VAG-1551/2, Mercedes have STAR; What tool do LR dealers use to 'talk' to Freelanders? Is there a end-user equivalent? New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC

2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

I've got a DVD "Jaguar landrover IDS v118" which is supposed to be diagnostic software for a LR but I'm assuming that it is useless without an interface.

There's one on eBay for £1,895 which is a touch expensive Shocked New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC

Actually it is quite intruiging!

.... but useless without an interface. I understand it is the same 'WCM' used by Ford. Cheapest I've seen one is $500 + shipping for a clone.

The cheapest in the UK was £550 from here New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Lago Grey

My company makes diagnostic testers

If you want powertrain diagnostics, then any J1979 equiped diagnostic tester will do, they all have to conform to EOBD. At the low price end ELM are pretty decent, JLR use diagnostics over CAN for all current production models and it simply needs to be enabled for that.

It won't pick up body systems diagnostics, they don't have to conform to any standards so generally are proprietary. Thats the only reason dealers can charge so much for STAR type systems etc.

So depends what you want to use it for..... 58 HSE, auto, lago grey, tints. Mine and my dogs Storm and Sky
TT Quattro, black. Ers.
AC Cobra rep in build. Ars.

Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, and SKODA use VAG 5051 or 5052 not 15. Whistle

Back in the day Rover and Landrover used to use a system called Testbook. It was fun to use, even more fun to make it print the results needed for warranty claims!! Censored I'm not sure whats used now.
