Try land rover assistance play the I don't feel the car is secure card

at least they might sort it,though they might tow the car and you'll get a loan car till it's fixed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Alarm Recall

Hi
I had a phone call from LR Team Valley on Friday advising they need to see my car, apparently their is a recall because of the alarm, something to do with a secondary alarm that if it goes faulty the alarm goes off and you can't stop it Exclamation
Apparently its a 10 minute job.
Might be worth a call to your dealer to see if yours is included in the recall! Current 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Black 2016 Onwards

I had the same thing. It's the battery backup sounder.
Easy to replace and was done on warranty.

This is the latest recall. It affects some Freelander 2 models, and it is easy to rectify. This was mentioned to me by the dealer yesterday when I asked about the recalls schedule. apparently if your car is not affected yet, it is unlikely to be in the future.

I had the same, the alarm going off and I couldn't stop it. I wasn't the neighbours best friend! It's as you now know the battery back up sounder. It's a small gold box located to the side of the battery attached to the bulkhead, if it's getting inconvenient you can disconnect it until it's fixed!

The LR assist guy took mine out and I stuck it in a tupperware box in padding to stop the noise it was making, although the battery doesnt last long..... Laughing

I received a call from Landrover yesterday advising me that I needed get the vehicle booked in for a recall job on the horn? (10 minute job)
Will this be to do with the problem related to the alarm that has been mentioned in this thread?

Thought I'd mention it here in case its an aditional job to the alarm.
Soon as its rectified, I'll let you know exactly what it is that they've done.

Mark

Thats the odd thing.
The dealer I brought it from didn't contact me.

I received the telephone call from the dealer I had the car serviced at last week. (cheaper service quote, hence using them)
Prior to that service, I'd had zero dealings with them.
