Finally took the plunge and bought one. GS TD4-e in black. Its great. Won’t miss my fantastic Discovery 3 (well so far I don’t)

Filled it up and did 65 miles of which 40 on the motorway around 70mph. Filled it up again and it took 6.4 litres and calculation says 45.2mpg that’s 20 more than the Disco!

The stop/start is a bit scary?

This is the best finished Land Rover I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few, well 6 in 20 years. Well done Lr2maker and colleagues.

You will cause some mixed feelings from a certain member with that fine looking motor, he will have mixed emotions, the colour he will love but the accessory he won't. Personally I don't mind each to there own. I have had mine for a while and still look forward to the next ride out and I am sure you will to. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I feel the same as yourself re the FL2 compared to previous Landrovers, and enjoy the comfort with the economy.

The tow bar and twin electrics are required to carry a 4 bike rack needed for this weekend so I ended up having the dealer fit them. As for the price, the cheapest genuine Land Rover tow bar I found was on ebay being sold by Marshalls at 179.99 inc delivery and the electrics at £250 from Duckworths. I could probably have got them cheaper from the D3 site sponsors but didn’t have the time.

What did they cost me, in truth I don’t know as they were part of a very complicated and hard won deal. It started at £700 plus but I got them for approximately £500 including fitting. I’m happy with that. Hope that was helpful.

I was well aware of your aerial fetish due to its repetition bordering on tourettes. Privacy glass does not give any additional protection against attack, film does and therefore to suit my circumstances its film and I’m happy thank you.

I wasnt critising film, I saw pinkies first cars fitted film and it looked fine, I was merely wondering which type you had , following on from a different thread film vs factory. Your pics are a prime example of the subtle differences between film and factory , many people ask what the differences are. At work

No cg it is OCD that you are developing, you see a tow bar and then your off, next time you see a tow bar smile and say to your self " I wonder if he has a caravan they are nice people" and think how much Mrs CG enjoyed the few days away in one. The day CG gets a towbar fitted and is seen pulling a caravan will be the day that all LR dealers stop saying ''well, we've never seen this fault before sir'' !! .......I think were safe in saying it's never going to happen

Not all tow bars drag plastic sheds, how do you tow the Ifor without one, bit of a b***** unboltiing the swan neck to preserve the depature angle though, even then it leaves the electrics a bit exposed. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit
