Bluetooth & Blackberry

Hallo to all! My first message! Wink

I have a problem between my blackberry 8300 and the inboard bluetooth system. The car and telephone couple without problem, but when I try to read the phonebook on the car it display voices in form of telephone numbers and not in form of names memorized on the phonebook. May you help me? Thanks! Bow down

Is it the 8310 or similar?

As far as I'm aware, the 8310 should be the same as the pearl (8110 etc.) and phone book work, however, if it's an 8900, 8520, or any of the new models you may need to ensure you've got the latest software, for the phonebook to work with names.

What version of software are you running?

Rich

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Santorini Black

Something similar happened to me.

My Blackberry worked fine until the sync software offered me an operating system upgrade.

Then the numbers appeared instead of names.

Advice on this site told me that if I went to the Blackberry web site and "downgraded" to my previous operating system , all would be fine.

It was.

Perhaps you could install an earlier version??

Copy of message posted by Rich.

I did this with my 8900 and it works perfectly now.

Bluetooth with new Blackberries

Hi

Just thought I'd post a bit of good news. If anyone out there has a newer Blackberry, ie. Storm, Bold, Curve 8900, or thinking about getting one, the newer versions of OS's support the bluetooth correctly.

I've been working on my bosses 8900, and had to give up my Storm as the phonebook only ever synched numbers, with no names.

I've just downloaded a newr OS (although it is currently a Beta release) and it works perfectly.

I've also seen posts on BB forums about the newer OSs, and the fact that it's fixed it for our cars and the Jag XF, which uses the same kit, for all the new 4.6 OS based phones.

If you have one and want to get it sorted, it's worth searching on Crackberry.com for OS releases, I've just put version .250 on the 8900, and the car works, can't currently vouch for anything beyond that, but lots of people on there have reported no problems with it. Just make sure you read the feedback for the version you're downloading, so have major flaws, some seem good they're all early release versions, so not official releases yet.

Rich

Ok I want to update software, first I want to try with the new bold. I tried but blackberry deskot manager via Blackberry Italy told me that the operative system that i have installed on my phone is the last one up to date (4.6.0.247) i know that is ot the last one. I went on cra...erry.com and I saw a link to download the last software, I cliccked and I went to blackberry north america where they proposed me to download on my PC the last one, the problem is that the software is bended to an operator called AVEA (turkish one) cra..erry explain how to install it (changing a file), the only problem is that to download it I have to fill a form with a lot of personal dates (they ask me the name of the company where I work Shocked ) and a lot of other disclaimer.
Now since I don't want to do nothing illegal, I ask to you, is it legal to do this operation?

Not sure about the legalities, I'd just do it, if anyone claims you've done anything wrong, it's their fault for having software not compatible with you car Rolling Eyes

Also, from what I remember, on all the forms on Blackberry (think you have to complete it to download anything) it takes you to the download page afterwards, rather than emailing you a link, so you don't need to put in your details. I never do, even when downloading stuff for work, get annoyed with it.

Hope it works for you

Rich
