New Freelander2 owner

Hi Everyone,
Just picked up my new Freelander2 last Saturday and can honestly say I am impressed! Smile

Having owned a Freelander 1 Confused , and a end of life Discover 2 Landmark Smile , I am pleased with the
quality and style of the new car.

Completed 400 miles, and still quarter of a tank + of diesel left!
Not bad for a 4x4.

Any other new owners out there?

Paul.

Btw old man, don't grumble about that, at least you have rain and about 20 (according to the news), we reached 46 in Athens yesterday and we have all got hot now! Hey,
had my FL2 TD4 SE for 1 month, covered 2K miles, all is fine!
Great car, very comfortable, suprisingly good economy at around 37mg.
Still got a smile on my face.

One thing i would change would be to have the rear glass open seperately to the tailgate
as it did in my old FL1 and Jag X type estate.

Drive well
Paul

Yep, new owner here. Car is 4 days old today............might bake a cake later Rolling with laughter

Had my first glitch today. Went out for a drive, stopped at Peterhead to take the air, started the car and my trip meter and Av mpg had reset itself to zero Evil or Very Mad

Not to worry, she still drives beautifully Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

most people are having that fault, a simple software update or 2 should sort it

update

Hi Everyone,

Just completed a 2000 mile tour of France with the FL2, and it hummed along the French Autoroutes like a dream. We drove in the mad Paris traffic, and on the wide open motorways without a problem.
Even got a few interesting looks from the locals as not many FL2 in France at present.

With mixed driving in built up Paris and doing 130KPH (80MPH) on the motor way, fully loaded with occupants plus their luggage, the car returned 37mph. This includes using cruise control and air con.

Seriously the Cruise control and Navigation system meant driving was made even easier.

I am still impressed with this car! Very Happy

Hope this continues. Smile

Paul. Very Happy Bye for now,
Paul

I'm lucky if I get 33 MPG, drove through Holland on cruise control, kept to 70 and only registered at 33MPG after 200miles! - HSE 2.0L auto

David,

Do you keep a paper record of fuel/miles? That would indicate if the mpg has really change or if its a display error on the trip computer.

I had first software updates, At present have not had any fail to start episodes, or trip resets. However the CD has given up completely (its locked up with a CD in it) been waiting four weeks to get that fixed. Also, the level at which the low fuel warning light comes on has changed. It now turns on a just below a quarter on the gauge, where it used to come on much lower. This is no big deal but it does show how these software downloads can cure one problem and introduce another.... guess thats what happens when you have a car full of computers. Shocked
