Off on tour!!!!

As i get bored of laying at the side of a pool for 2 weeks (been there done that in june in corfu (wimbledon fortnight) and it rained every day for the 1st week while u lot were having a heatwave back here) Laughing

so ferry booked for 2.20am saturday morning hit calais bout 5ish and then 17days to go exploring in the fl2 Razz

Only drawback is the wife n daughter r tagging along - still im sure im gonna enjoy it more than a poolside holiday.

no hotels booked - not even got a plan of where we r heading - spain - portugal who knows. sat nav hard wired in today and rear window tints fitted - 30,000 service last week - maps packed - bulb set ordered and spare triangles - dayglo vests - cant wait.

just really looking forward to some serious mileage in the motor

anybody done any routes down to spain - owt to look out for - anywhere i shouldnt miss out on ?

let me know

cheers

youngie

bon voyage Thumbs Up

I've always found these good places to stay, grab an up to date map/guide book at your first one so you can find the rest Thumbs Up

Crossed le viaduc de millau in june with the van on the back on our way down to narbonne, when you're on it there is no sensation of height at all bit of a dissapointment really the best views are from the motorway when you are 5 km north of it, don't forget to call in at the next exit heading south and pick up some Roquefort, Thumbs Up [/img]

Its also worth getting off the motorway the junction before the viaduct and visiting the visitor centre right underneath the bridge for some great views of the structure from below.

Planning on doing a similar trip next month - first big outing for the FL2 and have planned to cross over the Millau bridge - will be going down to Torrox in southern Spain so hope to get some good pics. I have pre booked B&B's in France and Spain as I was not sure how hard they would be to find at short notice. Roud trip of 3000 miles ++. Got all the safety gear already stowed and Sat Nav programmed, can't wait to get going. Cool

5 weeks and I'll be in Portugal without my car

no driving = lots of beer
2 kids = not as much beer as I woudl like
2 grandparents coming = babysitters
babysitters = time for beers

good things come around to those who plan their holidays Cool Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
