Welcome, this is a very unusual forum group in that everyone is so helpful and there's a wealth of experience through ownership and none of the usual negativity you normally see in this type of group. The Freelander 2 is a great car, probably because it's mostly Ford & Volvo |

I agree with milthedog, the FL2 Forum is great, and I believe that the FL2 is fast becoming a Classic.

If the Freelander had a biscuit instead of a full size spare wheel then there would be more room. But I would rather the full size spare, actually over size 255/60R18. 30kg a piece! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Having retired from caravanning aged 78 at the back end of last year, it was time to sell my Freelander after 8 and a bit years of ownership. The forum has been great for advice and humour.

Thanks Ian. No I haven’t retired from driving, I’ve ran a second car for many years and up until about 10 years ago it was usually a classic, MGB followed by a mint MK2 Escort RS2000, I’ve always tinkered but realised I was getting too old to crawl under so I moved on to more modern stuff, a 2.9 Porsche Boxster followed by a new Mazda MX5 which I traded in a few months ago for a new Škoda Fabia Monte Carlo 1.5 Tfsi, this more suits my 78 year old body, goes like the clappers and averages around 50mpg.
