Rear brake mudshields

Following on from replacing the front mudshields
https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic39322.ht...p;start=15
Im now looking to replace the rear ones.

Being a 2014 EPB model the part numbers are LR039936 and LR039937.

Unlike the fronts they are not intended to be replaced with the hub in place (stupid design).
But cutting with tin snips allows the mudshield to be twisted and passed over the hub. Obviously being very rusty helps to bend the metal. (see the cut in the pic)

If I can find some at a sensible price I shall cut them and reverse the process to install new ones.
With 4 bolts holding them in place the cut wont make any difference Im sure. Jules

Cheapest rear (late model) mudshields Ive been able to find are from Matlings 4x4 (£33 ea) .

Obviously will need some fettling to get them on without removing the hub.

Many places just dont have them any more. Jules

On a previous vehicle, I cut them, fitted and then tack welded them. Avoided removing the hub...

Yes, despite accepting payment. Maltings 4x4 dont actually have any for sale. Evil or Very Mad

Plus their supplier cannot give them a delivery date.

Anyone found any actually available ?

Anyone know which other FOMOCO vehicle uses the same mudshield, if any ?

Is there a way of relating LR part numbers to Ford ones ? Jules

I had a look online at the 2006+ Galaxy but I couldnt find any pics that looked the FL2 rear disk splash guard.

Maybe I should look at the then Volvo - but which one ? Jules

I found the mintex brakebook good for cross referencing,

https://www.brakebook.com/bb/mintex/en_GB/...arch.xhtml

Looks like despite the calipers/pads being shared, the discs are unique to fl2 so possibly the brake shield is too.

@ Arctic. Have got them now.

I contacted Matlings at the end of Nov for an order update as had heard nothing. They contacted their JLR part supplier for an update; was told "parts are on the way". The parts arrived last week, whilst I was hill walking in the Dales.

Wont be fitting them for at least a few days as the weather has turned a bit nasty. Sad

It'll give me time to work out just where to cut them so as to install them without removing the hub.
The last set lasted 10 years so I'll just tack weld the cut and repaint - I doubt I'll need to replace them again. Smile Jules

Interestingly they came in bags with JLR stickers and each has a "Landrover" logo stamp but no part numbers or FoMoCo stamped anywhere, unlike the replacment front mud shields.

Maybe they really are a part bestoke to the FL2 Jules
