Given that this vehicle is a battery draining hog, I personally would not.

The rear socket beside the audio jack is permanently live, at least it is on my 2008 model.

Same herewith my 2007 HSE. I have just bought a twin USB A adaptor to plug into the rear socket that has blue led illumination, that stays on when the ignition is off. Can I leave this in place overnight without any devices connected without fear of draining the battery?

I leave a Bluetooth audio steaming adapter plugged into a USB in mine all the time.
I've measured the consumption of mine, which is about 100mA, so not much over night. However if I wasn't going to be using the car for more than a few days, I pull the USB out the power socket, to reduce the battery discharge to acceptable levels. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

See if you can find an adapter with an on/off switch. Amazon, Ebay, etc. have all combos of adapters just depends on search wording. For example I leave a OBDII device permanently plugged in but I also bought an extender cable for the OBDII with a power switch on the cable.

A further question on this subject. How do you actually remove the aux/cigarette lighter without taking the whole centre console out. I have a 2014 MY and its the socket next to the usb in the centre console that I'm trying to remove. Have searched You Tube etc. but no real answer as yet. Any help would be appreciated.

This thread from Jules, working in the same area, says what he did to release centre console without too much trouble.

I profusely apologise that taking a photo took longer than a day.

I have popped out the glovebox 100+ times (mostly due to my acoustic insulation numerous layers on installation, wearing out the damper connection) & the damper recently stopped locking in place, so the glovebox dropped.

Drill a hole & in the glovebox as per photo & cable tie to hold damper in place. Has worked well for many months.

If your service centre/mechanic is replacing air filter. A post-it note will save further expense.

Or just pop out glovebox & keep it a home for an experienced (self) installer!

I found it far easier to just drill a hole vertically through the protruding light grey hollow pin of the damper, and insert a "P" clip. Dead easy to remove and re-install if need be. And it doesn't fly off if off-roading, neither on the local speed bump nor in real nature Wink
And just take the damper apart if it's gone sloppy, and clean it with isp - iso propyl alcohol. inside, and voila, it's going slow again. I improved mine further with a bit of sponge foam cut to suit at the top of the damper assembly, and click it back together. Makes for a more soft ending of the travel of the damper. And possibly a prolonged service life. Who knows...
Cheers,
Redfox.

Treat your damper with care - new ones cost a small fortune Jules

Exactly, Land Rover chose to multiply the price by more than 10 times. Much more.
Hence my tip to prolong it's service life.

Kind regards,
Redfox.
