Same herewith my 2007 HSE. I have just bought a twin USB A adaptor to plug into the rear socket that has blue led illumination, that stays on when the ignition is off. Can I leave this in place overnight without any devices connected without fear of draining the battery?


I leave a Bluetooth audio steaming adapter plugged into a USB in mine all the time.
I've measured the consumption of mine, which is about 100mA, so not much over night. However if I wasn't going to be using the car for more than a few days, I pull the USB out the power socket, to reduce the battery discharge to acceptable levels. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

See if you can find an adapter with an on/off switch. Amazon, Ebay, etc. have all combos of adapters just depends on search wording. For example I leave a OBDII device permanently plugged in but I also bought an extender cable for the OBDII with a power switch on the cable.

A further question on this subject. How do you actually remove the aux/cigarette lighter without taking the whole centre console out. I have a 2014 MY and its the socket next to the usb in the centre console that I'm trying to remove. Have searched You Tube etc. but no real answer as yet. Any help would be appreciated.
