It would absolutely be worth a try to replace the batteries. The issue I am most unhappy with, is that all 4 windows sometimes drops to the bottom when unlocking, despite only a quick push on the button. Can this be caused by bas fob battery also? |

Its called Global opening, if you hold the unlock button down when unlocking, it opens all the windows.

Fully aware of the "global opening" function, but this has happened several times without any long depressing on the fob... That's the mystery! |

Same with both fobs. Both are the originals, but casing has been replaced. |

The button on the circuit board has failed. It should be a long press. |

Do the internal dashboard lock/unlock buttons work normally?

For the two last posts.... That may be a good approach. Yesterday, the car unlocked when I walked towards it after work, with the fob in my pocket. So, buttons might be the case. Both fobs are stored in a place at home where the can "reach" the car. So, now I will place one of them a place like a metal box or something and use the other to see if the problem disappears. Hope so

Or a biscuit tin, it might need to be emptied, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find some help with that.
