Hi,
I've just bought a Freelander 2 2012 automatic.
The gear shift button doesn't depress, yet you can still move through the gears. It seems a little stiff. Is this okay or not? I see others have had similar problems. Is it a problem? Or is it likely to become problematic?

Replacement springs are readily available online, & there are several youtube vids on how to remove the shift knob.

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

[quote="Gimlet"]Hi all. 2013 Freelander 2 XS purchased last week. Only 41K on the clock, got my first problems already. Engine management light on, stumbling, low power, red triangle lights up then goes into limp mode. Limp mode clears on stopping and restarting the engine but engine management on all the time.

Hoping it's just a fuel filter issue as the fuel level was low at the time, but fearing turbo problems. Also noticed when pulling over when the red triangle came on that the power steering groans on full lock.

Got a sinking feeling about this car...

Problem solved. Cheap and nasty Halfords battery not holding sufficient charge and low voltage setting off all sorts of alerts.
Luckily found a really good independent specialist nearby who put his finger on it immediately. Top notch Varta battery now fitted.

2010 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Zermatt Silver

Hi just joined, bought a 2010 GS Auto for peanuts, plenty of things to fix on it!

Other than the gearbox, is the restnof the transmission nthebsame and fully interchangeable, ie PTU, prop shaft, haldex, diff etc, only I'm going to need to get used replacements for 2 or 3 of those to fix this one properly and wondering if I should buy a whole car with a blown engine, but which is a manual?

Thanks,

Andy
