That’s so you can buy a new item when the plastic clips fail as they inevitably will. Don’t you realise that the whole of the world economy is based on people buying things? How is anyone expected to make any money if you can just undo a screw to change the battery or effect a repair? |

I’ve often thought the man who designed the spring clips on down lighters must have had a previous career with a rat trap manufacturer, getting one out of a kitchen ceiling that’s been double boarded for fire resistance never happens without chopped fingers ! 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Manufactures make things to go together, not come apart.

Nobody makes anything to last or be repairable because that won’t make them any money in the future! Car manufacturers are not in business to make cars. They are in business to make money and cars are just incidental. The moment they stop making money on a car model either the price goes up or the model is discontinued. |

I can have the ceiling down & back up in 30 minutes. Sounds like they may only be working 6 to 12 minutes per hour to me. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I reckon that’s how they will get everyone to buy electric cars. They will make it to expensive or awkward to fix so it’s cheaper to dump it or set light to it then get it fixed. |
