How big a job is it to replace the PTU on a sd4 auto, mine is making a noise. Got the use of a 2 post lift to do the job.

Depends on how long it takes for you to remove the sleeve coupling between ptu and gearbox. It might also be the case that you do not have to replace the sleeve but i doubt it. Did mine in 8 hours, 4 of thoae were figuring out how to remove the sleeve. Apart from that, not that hard. |

Replaced the PTU today simple job in the end drove on lift at 10.15 went for a test drive 13: 15.

Yes, did it myself easy enough job on a lift. Got it from WE are Diffs they do all Land Rover diff and boxes Good price £425 delivered and they pick up old unit. |

The sleeve was good, bit of rust on PTU side but no ware on splines put some copper grease on them and put it back |
