If it has a module it is 5 v SPs

If it has a relay it is 11v SPs

I renewed the GPs on mine and replaced the Module with one from a scrappy, making sure to match the codes.

You can test the glows for continuity

I downloaded the manual for the early Evoque but there is not much in it about the module so as I say just replaced it

How old are the GPs

HI Mr Chips.
I would imagine they are the same age as the FL2 57 reg so 17yrs old they have not been changed in my time of ownership 7yrs

What are the best ones to use for a manual TD4 any idea please once again all answers welcome and appreciated.

I've just ordered a genuine set for the Freelander I'm selling. LR001302 is the correct PN for a 57 plate. The genuine box contains NGK plugs No: YE08, rated at 11 Volts. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

You have to be careful, there is a 5v & 11v variant, I believe the early models took the 11v type (at least that's what I put in my 2007. Not sure when the voltage change over happened.

Not on a 2014 model! (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Hi John.
From where did you order them please or are these the ones.

https://www.lrdirect.com/lr001302-glow-plug

https://www.ribblevalley4x4.com/britpart/BP_LR001302.html

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387125206772

Seems you can be spoilt for choice

PS They are for a 2007/57 TD4. Manual

Not The 2014 SD4 Auto

Where can i find the relay will it be in the same place as the module behind the fire wall ? cheers Arctic

I got them from a Jaguar ebay seller. I was surprised to see that the genuine box contains NGK, although I suppose I shouldn't be, as LR don't make the plugs.
The glow plug relay should be in the BJB. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Hi John.
Thank you for your reply, this is what i have found out so far about the glow plugs, before taking half the engine apart to fit some new ones.

NGK glow plug - 4966 (LR001302)

Engine No 224DT.

To Chassis No AH999999

Voltage (V) 11

Brand NGK.

Resistance Ohm 1.0

Overall Length mm 99.0

Fitting Depth mm 28.0

Thread size M8x1.0

spanner/ socket deep 8mm

Port Type PIN

https://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/catalogues...2007/8526/

As opposed to MY14.
https://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/catalogues...2014/9811/

Think I will do the fuel filter at the same time, see half the top of engine needs removing to fit these glow plugs Big Cry still have to check the fuse or the relay yet.

F4
R4

Hopefully find time to day to do a quick check

It is possible to do the glow plugs with the inlet manifold in place, but they're awkward to get at. They're not tight though, basically just a bit tighter than screwdriver tight, which is all they need to be as the sealing joint is a thin taper. I saw one YouTuber using copper slip and a torque wrench to tighten them to 10Nm. This is an absolute no no, as the grease will allow for a much higher torque than the plug body is designed, and grease will likely dry out in use, bonding the plug in place.

All that is needed for these plugs is a nip up after they are screwdriver tight, nothing more is needed, and they go in dry. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

HI John.
Thank you for that great bit of info so now i will have a look at trying to do them without removing the top.

I will save that when i do the belts later this month or early September, MOT due in 3 weeks.

Yes long reach 8mm socket will be needed, even then it would be hard to access the glow plugs, with the manifold in place.
1

Even with the fuel filter and throttle body out of the way also difficult.

Photo from 2020 when i change the manifold.
2

With the manifold out of the way access is excellent, but a lot of work so fuel filter will done at the same time, i also intend to change the air flutes, for the later type no flute.
3

4

I have a spare glow plug loom as well just in case.
5

I noted that the loom is a Peugeot.
6

Hopefully this weekend will see them replaced, I will also check the infamous little blue wire.

The cars vin number should be found in the bottom left of the windscreen.
