I don't remember my I6 fan running on after engine shutdown, and my TD4 doesn't run on either. I guess it's normal. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

My fan will if the gearbox oil is hot enough on the TD4. But that's after 18km stretch up a mountain road towing a heavy trailer. Usual driving on same road it won't. Next time I'll keep an eye on temps to note the temp it turns off at. |

Can't recall it ever staying on with the Si4. Have noticed the odd car parked where it happens, but not this time of year. Have to wait untill summer to double check. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

My i6 dual fan (a proactive replacement) nor the original single fan run after the vehicle is shut off. |

There's no real benefit of running the cooling fans after shutdown, unless there's an electric coolant pump to continue to circulate the coolant around the system.

I agree, but sometimes there's a system despite that build. For example on my Corrado G60, with it's hot kompressor, oil can carbonize and do damage, so there's a temp. regulated after run of the fan, it sucks out a LOT of hot air, and is also connected to a timer, 3 minutes. It runs a low to medium speed. Not full on. I've never experienced any drained battery on any car for this reason.

If you forum search for threads by @p_gill, I got the idea to replace my single fan with a Volvo dual fan model. It was significantly more reasonable than the LR dual which is not normally stocked.

My SD4 often runs on in hot weather and sometimes after a long hard run.
