Isle Of Man 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Zermatt Silver

I’ve no experience with the ronbox but have recently fitted a bluespark box to mine
It’s set on it’s standard settings and has very slightly improved mpg, all my driving is on country roads
But it does seem to of made the drive smoother nicer to drive

New Zealand 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Sumatra Black

Well, I thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead.

Been trying to buy a Bluefin for a while now (they're not using Bluefin controllers any more... Superchips using Powergate hardware.... whatever, those guys) but keep hitting walls - being charged GST when outside of UK, marked as not in stock, the sale discount not appearing on my checkout amount etc etc. Final straw was when i finally got my order in, money was transferred, only to be told a week later that they have no controllers and are not expecting any in any time soon. Money transferred back into my account minus a nice large chuck of coin due to exchange rate timing. Censored OK universe, i get it... i'm not supposed to have one.

So. Ronbox. Let's give that a go. Not trying to start the whole "you should/shouldn't do this because..." stuff. I've been reading about them for years and know what they do and I accept the risk. Ron seems like a standup guy and knows what he's doing.

Easy to order. Website didn't charge me GST as not in UK. Tracking number. Arrived fast. Cool.

Synergy3. Hooks into the MAP and the Fuel Rail. I was expecting it to hook into the MAF like some of the older units, but no. Quick look at Torque to confirm that MAP, MAF and Fuel Pressure readings are coming in fine and doesn't look like i've got a plug wrong.

Took her for a quick jaunt around the back streets. Throttle lag is now nearly non existent and pulls harder - the wife was always annoyed at junctions when she'd put her foot down and you'd have that second before the power kicked in. Will have some long mountain stretches this coming week with a heavy trailer, so will have a play and report back.
