Strange button in the glovebox...

Hello,

I've noticed a strange ON/OFF button, in my 2007 FL2 HSE glovebox, and I don't know what it should do.
Anyone have an idea about it?

Thank you!

Its an 'after market' add on switch.

If your vehicle came without a 'feature' like Front Fog Lamps then this s the kind of swith they us.

You need to press the switch and find what 'feature' now works. Say if it is Fogs, then you may need other lamps to be activated first.

Here is a photo of a similar switch used on 'another' Land Rover vehicle.

It's not for the fog lamps, but if it's aftermarket, than it would be hard for me to find out what's for... maybe an electrician would solve this mystery.
Thank you guys!

It's not a battery kill switch but it could be an anti-theft. Will try to find out.

You will need to trace the wiring. As mentioned above it is or was controlling something. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Its a pretty standard power switch, I have seen them in kits to provide after market Wireless Charging.

If so, where is the Charging Pad hidden. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

If it's in the glove box then more than likely
an extra immobaliser or as Ian says a control for
an after market charging pad.
Is there a prize for guessing right? Laughing DAVE.

I will try to find out what's the deal with it, gonna follow the circuits and see.
Will update the thread when the mystery will be solved.
