Nightmare Fuel... Power steering pipe connector

Please help...

I cannot for the life in me manage to get this connector off of the power steering bottom pipes... Any idea? The one with the plastic clip housing came off easy but I cannot get this one off for the life in me

It's so easy with the right tools when you know how. I take it's the rubber pipe from the pump to the metal wibbly wobbly pipe.

I used hose grip pliers. You need to lightly grip just below the rubber collar, push the collar up and pull the pipe off.

or you can use air con pipe disconnectors to do the same thing

or you can make your own out of a plastic bottle cap.

You need to drill a hole about the same diameter as the pipe connection in the cap, cut a split in the side of the cap, put the split cap under the rubber collar and push up maybe better to lightly grip the split cap with mole grips

The rubber collar below the joint actually has the removal tool built in. The pipes are held together by a C clip, which the tool engages with and opens as a result. The way I do it is to place an open ended spanner just larger than the metal pipe below the rubber collar, then hit it from below with a small hammer. This will force the metal release tool of the collar into the C clip, which will force it upwards and free from the metal pipe. This is assuming that it's not all rusted up, which unfortunately does happen. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
