The lack of oil for the torque converter will answer the lack of drive. The real question is what caused all the oil to exit the gearbox. A hole normally does it. Hopefully, ‘just’ a drain or filler bolt rather than a failure of the casing. |

Morning, thanks. If it’s a hole am I looking a grand or more to fix as it’s a garage job not diy . It was a lot of oil everywhere. There seemed to be more all over the nearside wheel and brakes then the offside, the disc etc was covered on the nearside. |

Thanks, can not investigate yet as it is waiting to be brought home on a transporter. The recovery driver said it needs jet washing to actually see anything, I was just trying to 2nd guess what I am in for. I looked on Trent salvage and a gearbox is 5 to £700 I didn’t check out delivery costs, no idea of garage costs. I only commented on the way out with the caravan how well it tows and comfortable it was towing. I will keep quiet in future.😁 |

Thanks , when a non mechanical person sees that much oil we tend to think of the worst things. It was all down the side of the caravan, and sprayed up all around the wheel arch and brake etc. |

Only had one of those gearbox flushes done with the machine about 12 to 15000 miles ago so it will be well flushed now. |

So, what did they connect the machine that does the flush to? That would be my first target! |

I don’t know, it was done in a garage. Not where I normally go , just did the flushing but that would of been over 2 years ago now. |

If it sprayed out, it's more likely to be from a small pressure line, like the cooler line. If the oil had dumped out from a large hole under gravity, it would be on the road as it spewed under the car, but probably not got much on the tin tent. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate.
