We need to change the master. Your exhaust manifold mounting studs have broken and exhaust is coming out from under the manifold. The replacement procedure is very complicated. It’s easier to remove the engine and drill out the studs on the removed engine. 150hp 420nm up to 235hp 490nm

Take the engine cover off and look and smell for diesel leaks around the Injectors. If there is any that's the cause of the fumes

Yeah, diesel leak under the engine cover would be my first port of call as well. Costs you all of a few minutes to check. |

Not a FL but had similar with a citroen, could not find a problem with the injectors at first in day light but then looked in the dark with a torch and it immediately apparent one injectors was leaking round the seating. May just be me and my eyes, but may help you if it’s an injector leaking. |
