Differences between early model and late models (13 and 14)

I owned a 08 manual for 5 years and I'm looking for a late model to replace it.

These are the differences I know of:

Front bumper, headlights and taillights, dash, dials, centre console, seats.

I know the haldex is updated and doesn't give any problems like my old one did.

Is there anything else I'm missing and is there anything in particular I should look out for?

Many thanks in advance

Later ones have Keyless entry as opposed to a fob that docks into the dash, also LED lights front and rear. 2013 FL2 XS.

MY13 onwards has keyless ignition but you still need to use the fob to unlock and lock the vehicle.

As things have turned out this is a move of genius by Land Rover as these cars cannot be hacked by these key cloning devices. Also the fob has easily replaceable batteries.

Hope the insurance companies appreciate this !

Another major difference is the electronic parking brake. FL2 SD4 XS 2013 Orkney Grey

MY13 onwards is a whole different electrical system.

Over the years have read comments in threads that the latter models are quieter.

"Touch wood" my MY13 has basically been faultless. Bought it new.

Has a much nicer looking central console layout:

The updates for the facelift cars are extensive, wiring, modules, complete infotainment system, dashboard, rear bumper, rear lights, front bumper, and headlights too, which if they have the conventional bulbs are pathetic compared to the early cars. The drive train remained mainly the same as the 2009 MY onwards cars, the Haldex being the later and generally more troublesome Gen4 unit. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

So the TD4 and SD4 are the same engine and turbo but with a different map?

I'm not sure I understood the haldex bit, I thought that the MY13 had an updated haldex and rear diff that doesn't give problems?

I had lots of issues with the diff on my old FL. I imported the car from UK and specifically told the guy that was supposed to inspect it to look for a whining noise from the diff, yet as soon as the car arrived I could hear it. I took the diff out and sent it to bell engineering to rebuild it. I put it back in with the exact amount of oil and everything. Then I went to the local dealership to get the software updated as suggested in here but the idiots told me that no such software exists (the only dealership that exists here is terrible). Then after a while the noise came back and I ended up taking out everything, shaft, diff, half shafts and everything.

The TD4 and SD4 engines are essentially the same. The turbo is different, and so is the ECM mapping.
The SD4 has more torque as a result as a result of the changes, which equates to 37 more BHP a

I remember this LR Press Release
https://media.landrover.com/news/2010/08/l...eelander-2

in this thread
https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic35868.html?highlight=torque

It seems the same torque TD4 & SD4, but more is produced as the revs rise in the SD4.

What ever the figures, always go for the best equipped SD4 you can find. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

There was also the 160 BHP version TD4 available, which is the pre-DPF power output. As it appears all torque outputs are moderated to 420 Nm, the 160 must push the power up the rev range a little bit to make the extra power. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

2014 MY torque is the same for TD4 and SD4 engines at the same rpm. Both are 420Nm at 1,750 rpm.
Power is different, TD4 is 150 bhp, SD4 is 190 bhp
