The problem in Australia. If you buy a vehicle that can carry 1 tonne or greater, you get a whole lot of tax advantages.

Interestingly Ive just read that double cab 1 tonne pickups will lose their commercial vehicle status in the UK and are to be classed as cars by HMRC.

I expect that they will have people looking for the loop holes already or the big firms will be using single cab trucks |

The HMRC It only affects BIK taxation - it won't affect private owners or genuine and exclusive commercial use but it will affect those who have a four door pick-up truck as a company vehicle. Currently classed as a 'van', company vehicle drivers pay much less BIK tax than somebody with a vehicle classed as a car. Most double cab /four door pick-ups are company vehicles. https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/pickups-t...rom-july-1 |
