Just had a peek at his website, it was up for £3000 to start with its now £1300 . I guess nobody wants to gamble on it at that price.

The problem in Australia. If you buy a vehicle that can carry 1 tonne or greater, you get a whole lot of tax advantages.

You do not have to fill in Fringe Benefits tax paperwork so administration is so much easier.

Start a $2 company, get a vehicle with 1 tonne capacity to do the shopping & you are a winner.

But a Land Rover & you a knobbled before you start.

In my area there are so many 1 tonne capacity vehicles which their only purpose in life is going to Aldi etc.

One wonders why the stupid people like me don't join the tax dodge. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Interestingly Ive just read that double cab 1 tonne pickups will lose their commercial vehicle status in the UK and are to be classed as cars by HMRC.

It wont affect me but heck of a lot are used by infrastructure companies. Jules

I expect that they will have people looking for the loop holes already or the big firms will be using single cab trucks

The HMRC It only affects BIK taxation - it won't affect private owners or genuine and exclusive commercial use but it will affect those who have a four door pick-up truck as a company vehicle.

Currently classed as a 'van', company vehicle drivers pay much less BIK tax than somebody with a vehicle classed as a car. Most double cab /four door pick-ups are company vehicles.
