Can anyone shed any light on the above issue. Prior to carrying out the replacement of the EGR valve and cooler the car run smoothly. Following the replacement I have an engine hunting problem on tickover. As the car is an auto it occasionally makes reversing interesting when it revs just when you don't want it to!

I fitted a Lucas EGR and had a local specialist sync it to the car but the hunting issue has persisted.

There is one weird thing that makes the car tickover normally and that is disconnecting the MAF sensor. When it is disconnected the car runs and drives smoothly but if it is reconnected the hunting returns. I have bought and replaced the MAF sensor and the new one made no difference to the hunting problem when connected but all was fine with it disconnected. Obviously I can't keep it disconnected as the engine management light is on.

Any ideas as to how I can resolve this problem would be gratefully appreciated.

I think ???? I read on here somewhere that a new MAF sensor has to be calibrated? 2013 FL2 XS.

It sounds like it needs an air path calibration be done. The EGR system is disabled if the MAF doesn't return a signal. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
