Hi, yesterday on shutdown I noticed unusual sound, normally, there are a few clicks and sounds like some checks or diagnostics are running on engine shutdown. But this time it was rattling sound.

Could be the EGR valve. I believe the electronic ones go through a cleaning cycle when the engine is switched off. mine seems to cycle 3 times and then shuts off. |

Thanks everyone for replies. I just wanted to provide an update - I bought a “throttle body repair kit” from ebay that consisted of two metal cog wheels and a super glue. One “partial” cog wheel got glued on top of the existing cog wheel that had missing teeth, and the other wheel got replaced completely.

Yes, the one I got looks identical. Glueing the partial cog wheel is very easy because it “fits” in very nicely, all you need to make sure is to allign the teeth with the original (damaged) cog wheel. |
