I have to go to Heathrow three or four times a year to pick up/drop off and my FL2 will cost £12.50 plus at least £6 to enter the airport and park. My wife's Suzuki Swift is compliant but not sure about its ability to carry lots of luggage and passengers in comfort. The search for a nice petrol DS goes on. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

France has a crit air sticker system. All vehicles have to display this in the windscreen. It also applies to tourist vehicles. The "level" of sticker you are allocated related to the level of pollution the vehicle emits. My 2010 TD4 is a level 3. Levels go from 5 ( worst ) to (I think ) 1 ( best ). Cities already using the system include Paris, Lyon, Grenoble and Strasbourg, though is constantly expanding. The ability to enter these cities depends on your crit air designation. The limits are being reduced over a period of years. All very complicated ( typically French ).
Here is a better explanation for anyone interested.

We went to France a few weeks ago and got a Crit air sticker. Cost me £4 including postage from France. Audi A3 1.4 petrol. They sent me a purple one with the number 1 on it which is for an EV. Someone else I knew got the same! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

EV's don't get a number, they just get a green sticker. Only petrol & diesel cars get a number. Your purple no 1 sticker means you have a car in the cleanest category, although it still pollutes.

At 4 times a year that’s £84. How long will it take to save the money that a new motor is going to cost, is it really worth changing ?

My mistake. I meant Hybrid. Mines definitely not a hybrid and I have a purple sticker with a ‘1’ on it.

Thanks NoDosh. I previously posted a link, but unfortunately it wasn't read. Sometimes you literally have to put it out there in pictorial format for people to understand ......... Shame they didn't do that with recent voting propaganda 😤😂😂😂😤

I live in Oxfordshire so quite a distance from the ULEZ area at the moment, but travel to see my sister who will live in the upcoming ULEZ area come the end of August.
To my surprise I got a letter yesterday from TFL advising me that my vehicle, Freelander, has been identified as non complient.

So not only are they continually taking snap shots of every vehicle going into the proposed ULEZ area they are getting the owners details off the DVLA. This must of cost the taxpayer a fortune.

Big brother is watching!

A simple API connection between TFL and DVLA that already exists for billing. The cost will be tiny compared with dealing with any fallout from *not* notifying occasional users. Current driveway contents:

Your right it’s about crossing the T,s and dotting the I,s. The thing is it’s like every subject unless it’s actually costing a person or they have something to gain they will be totally uninterested in the subject.

So why can’t the other cities LEZ authorities do this? They are happy to lookup the address of the registered keeper when a charge hasn’t been paid so that they can dole out a penalty but can’t be bothered to set up a payment scheme that takes the charge when you enter their LEZ!

Well, I took risks yesterday and twice diced with the very edges of the new Glasgow LEZ. While there are big general warning signs on the motorway that runs through the city, there are no signs on the non-motorway roads until the actual entry line to the zone - by which time it can be too late to turn off. If you've not done your homework in advance (and finding a zoomable map of the zone seems unnecessarily difficult) you could easily find yourself crossing the zone boundary. As far as I am aware, I survived unscathed but it probably took me a half-hour extra each time.

Also why do the likes of the AA Route Planner not include the LEZs so that you can plan your route accordingly? 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Apple Maps already has Avoid Tolls that picks up LEZ’s in Bristol and Bath.
