Agree - Full Main Dealer Service History just means someone has paid a lot of money to have a some boxes ticked.

How did you do the check? Did you open it up or are there some kind of registration marks that should be there? MY11 SD4 SE Auto |

Unless your last service at the main dealer was substantially north of £1,000 they didn't change the cam belt. Go to any recommended independent and get it done for circa £500. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

One of the reasons I was suspicious of the belt not being changed that there were no stickers in the engine bay, so I decided to change the belt for my own piece of mind.

One of the problems isn't it. Bought mine after it may have had the belt done at 7 years but no way of knowing, even with LR service history. But it's getting towards time for a theoretical second belt so I guess I'll find out soonish.
ah, thanks elvis. How often would the stickers be put on I wonder. And how much for just the stickers instead of the belt?? Cheers guys. MY11 SD4 SE Auto |

My daughter recently bought a 2013 FL2 with around 90k miles on it from our local main JLR dealer. There was no paperwork to suggest that the cam belt had ever been done so they replaced it for her without any quibble. |

It is a bit of a lottery, isn't it?

I should have said that they also did the water pump on my daughter's car. |

Sounds like a good dealer there. They do exist but the bad ones get them all a bad reputation... FL2 2007 2.2d Auto SE. Baltic Blue. |

I’m sure there are good and bad stories about every dealer but we’ve found Charles Hurst JLR in Belfast (part of the Lookers group) to be very good to do business with over the last eighteen months. |

Bought mine there. Went back for a leaking centre brake light under warranty. They bodged it with silicon sealant. It won't see their door again. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
