First registered Oct 2009, 2010 Model Year, 193,734 miles on the clock, which I guess is what accounts for a "we buy any Car" quote that is essentially scrap value. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

Now I can exchange my licence I am looking about for a Freely2, they are fairly expensive out here, 15K€ for a 2013 HSE SD4 with 90k miles and a 2007 HSE fetches 8500€ for a reasonable 150k miles. If I can't get a Freely2 for a reasonable price I'm going for a FFRR or RRSport V8 diesel all three are cheap on tax at about 150€/year the only problem is insurance the SD about 530€ but need to check the V8's but at 80 and low annual mileage I think I can afford it, motoring is certainly cheaper out here as is council tax my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

My WBAC quote is much the same as Jules. Latest figure is £11,825 for my 2014 reg Metro at 70,000 miles. Compared with other later cars I have looked at, it seems a bargain. So I won't be swapping yet although I am beginning to to take an interest in the AutoTrader listings of the following; Volvo XC60 T8 Inspiration, JLR DS HSE PHEV JLR RRS HSE Diesel Dynamic JLR Jag I-Pace HSE Air Suspension Toyota RAV4 PHEV All, if possible, in White and at a price point of P/Ex my FL2 plus about £30k. One thing I have noticed is that the Road Fund on most of the cars looked at is very high for the first 5 years. I got my present Metro after several months by having 'Saved Searches' with 'Notifications' set on Autotrader nationwide, and jumping immediately on my chosen one and buying remotely with a LR Warranty. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 79k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

Traded my 14 plate FL2 XS with 75k miles for about £8k in November. This was based on WBAC valuation at the time so prices have dropped partly due to ULEZ I guess. Car has now appeared on auto trader for £11999 at a garage in Essex.

I will keep the FL2 as it is the best car i have had and yes i hate paying extra tax but the car does about 10k per year, tows trailers well and is pretty good off road and is safe.
