Yes the £400 came as a shock to us too, it will be sorned over winter for sure. Trouble is to get cheap tax the car is a lot more money and full of a lot more electronics and sensors to go wrong. They make us pay one way or the other. |

The auto must be different. Just received my reminder as well £320. Mine is a manual. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

TD4 manual is £240 a year 2013 FL2 XS.

I think its to do with the C02 emissions. Early models are 214g/km and the tax rate is £390. Later models are lower at 185/km and the tax is £320 |

Just paid £395. 2010 HSE auto. Only car, live in a rural area. Car is a must.

I think a lot of people don’t want to pay the government anymore then they have to no matter what. I must admit it grate’s paying more for nothing. |

I'm surprised at the variation in figures here! I paid £290 in April for mine - TD4e first registered in Nov '09 and CO2 rated at 179g/km.

Mine is automatic and the same £320 per year. There seems to little coherence with VED at first glance Note the discrepancy in First Registered Date and MoT test date too… I have owned this car from long before its first ever MoT test became due and the test date has always been a month later than the registration anniversary date. |
