Thank you everyone for the replies.
Just woken up as on nights.

Jacked up the landy, can't hear or feel any wheel bearings.
The is a little play in the CV but not loads.
I noticed I can move the shaft up and down in on the passenger side as it goes into the gear box. Not loads but defo movement.
There is also slack between turning one wheel and the other moving. Don't know how much normally
but seems quite a lot.
.the other thing is I can rotate the front wheels while it's in park. Not sure if they are locked out / should be when In park.
Also when rotating wheel/taking up slack there is quite a bit of forward back movement on the engine .

I took a couple little terrible videos I'll upload
I phoned bells but they are on holiday for 2 weeks.

Is the "Cup" (the bit that goes into the gearbox) moving or is it the driveshaft going into the cup that is moving.

Yours sounds like mine but if I hold the cup steady and turn the passenger side wheel back and forth you can see and feel a few degrees of movement in the joint. The cup itself is not loose where it goes into the gearbox. If that was moving it would indicate the diff bearings have worn.

I had exactly the same problem with my last Fl2, which was a 62 plate vehicle which had the noise appear from around 100,000 miles.
I did another 10,000 miles before finally changing it - by then it was about to blow I think.
Bell supplied the replacement, garage next door changed it for me.
Quiet car again.

yeh that looks screwed...

you have a desirable spec. you could replace it and potentially make your money back?

Bear in mind a cheap one will be cheap for a reason. £200 sounds like a minefield unless you are buying it for parts.

If the PTU is sound (and it is an Auto model), then go for it. you could weigh in what is left and only be out of pocket a few quid.
