still not fixed this issue but i have have a look underneath again and can only see one sensor,







Can somebody also tell me if this is the DPF too?

There are two EGT sensors one as you have discovered and photographed pre DPF, the other is higher up pre cat just downstream of the O2 sensor.

Yes the long unit with two metal pipes that go into the pressure differential sensor via rubber tubes is the DPF

ok well i think ive sorted the issue now, when i checked the connector from the sensor to the harness had its snap together clip broken and so the connector could slide back and forth at will, obviously when the vehicle is in motion.
I secured the connectors together with a cable tie, ive done about 400 miles with no issues at all, no going into limp mode driving perfect now

The connector for Sensor 2 the one nearest the DPF is a sod to get to. I had trouble and had to use a cable tie to hold the male and female together and one to hold it to the sub frame. If you have a decent code reader there is live data available to check.

Both sensors don't read the ambient temperature from cold, they show 100c until they warm up. The one above the cat nearer the engine obviously being the hotter of the two.

well i do like to give feedback on any problems i encounter and rectify, you can guarantee any faults i get on any of my motors are never straight forward fixes, anyway this one seemed to a nice easy fix.
Just have to replace near side spring shocker and get that oil seal fitted
