I'd imagine the Bosch one would be OK. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

One thing that caught me out was the known fault that occurred in the fuel tank wiring that caused my car to go into 'Limp Mode' every so often. Fuel Gauge wiring is a known problem. It needs attention at fuel tank end and there is a Technical Bulletin and fix for it. TECHNICAL BULLETIN LTB00566v6 04 JUL 2014 Some links of interest on the subject. https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic12990.ht...;start=120 https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic34749.html?highlight=fuel+gauge https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic30853.html?highlight=fuel+pump FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

Had another look this evening, noticed alot of smoke coming from the engine bay when revving. It was still there when idling but worse when revving. Looks like its coming out the back of the engine? Convinced they aren't related but happy to explore options? Any gaskets fail down here?

I had this problem when the leak off pipes kept blowing off the injectors, diesel was pooling up in the injector recesses and then spilling down the back of the engine. Other causes of smoke coming from the back engine are oil leaking from the air intake pipe or could be a failed gasket to the camshaft cover. Does it smell like burning diesel or oil?

You should be able to see if they are leaking when the car is running, if you've removed them a few times or if they are old you will want to change the little gasket where it connects to the injector. The pipes themselves and the gaskets are easy to damage. Corrado VR6 Mystic Blue - Gone

I haven't actually taken them off or touched them. I've only changed the Fuel Pressure Sensor and the Fuel pressure regulator both on the high pressure rail.

Hi did the problem develop before or after the Bosch fuel filter was fitted, the only reason I ask is that I had a similar experience with a Bosch fuel filter replaced it with a LR001313 genuine LR one (manufactured by Purflux) and that resolved the issue. |
