Haldex service

Jus.t got my 2010 Freelander 2 back from a new to me 4x4 garage after a diff drain, flush and new oil plus service of haldex unit
The bill came to a total of £293, is this a fair price or excesive?

Depends if they took the Haldex pump out and cleaned the mesh filter and changed the replaceable cartridge filter in the Haldex too. Just changing the Haldex fluid isn’t a service.
See https://www.bellengineering.co.uk/service-...ist_widget for the real deal Haldex service.

Just looked at bill for haldex service and I was charged £44.34 for service kit and £82.44 for haldex oil
Seems a bit steep for oil

That is about he correct price if bought from LR. Bell sell the correct amount of the correct specification oil for £30 + VAT.

It depends on what you think is expensive.
When I serviced my Haldex and rear diff in October, I spent £75 on fluids and filters, and enjoyed an hour on my back doing the job.
It's not a particularly difficult job, but easily to screw up if the correct process isn't followed.
Would I spent almost £300 having it done, absolutely not. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

@Bobupndown, thankie! Thumbs Up

I do buy locally the Volvo haldex equivalent oil and filter and their prices are good compared to LR and others but it's still expensive for ONE litre of flippin' oil! Of course, now with the supply chain shortages, prices have gone up!

That's made by Febi Bilstein, a German company. Do you not have it in Canada? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Available locally, no. Would have to import, which would trigger shipping charges, taxes and duty. I'm sure it's very good stuff!

And me.
Genuine parts in a plain brown box. I'm not a fan of paying for packaging which just gets thrown away. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
