Timing belt. Star socket on a pulley.

Hi folks. Going to do timing belt replacement. Before I get stuck in with the remains of half a car on the drive. Can someone tell me if I need a star drive or A Torx socket to remove one of the pulleys? If so can you be kind enough to tell me the size? Thanks in advance.

Can't remember if I needed one or not. Plenty of YouTube videos should assist though. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Thanks for the reply. I've seen this chaps video. He mentions the star bolt pulley. But I'm trying to determine the size of special socket before I commence work. Cheers.

cant remember a star socket, but you will need a good quality 22mm socket for the bolt on the end of the crankshaft as it is f Censored tight 2009 FL2 S now gone

There are some female torx bolts which need removing while doing the timing belt. Just buy a set, they're not expensive for a full set, often under £15 from the likes of Amazon or Ebay. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
