Hi folks. Going to do timing belt replacement. Before I get stuck in with the remains of half a car on the drive. Can someone tell me if I need a star drive or A Torx socket to remove one of the pulleys? If so can you be kind enough to tell me the size? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for the reply. I've seen this chaps video. He mentions the star bolt pulley. But I'm trying to determine the size of special socket before I commence work. Cheers. |

cant remember a star socket, but you will need a good quality 22mm socket for the bolt on the end of the crankshaft as it is f |

There are some female torx bolts which need removing while doing the timing belt. Just buy a set, they're not expensive for a full set, often under £15 from the likes of Amazon or Ebay. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
