Key fob

Had the low fob battery message appear on the screen yesterday, so replaced it today. Am I correct in believing that being a 2013 model with the ‘non plug in’ fob, the fob battery isn’t being charged in any way.

Your are entirely correct. The cheap as chips CR2032 replaceable button cell in the key fob is not rechargeable. They do last a very long time though.

Thumbs Up

Thank you, that’s what I thought but read an old post on here which suggested otherwise. Interestingly I only replaced batteries in Sept 2020 although I do only ever use the one fob, perhaps have to alternate with the spare.

Have since tried the spare, low battery indicator came up on that as well. Only got just over two years out of those Energisers

Have a look at these older fobs but with replaceable battery.

No problems with the fob, my query was about the battery

If you need a new cover because the rubber has deteriorated. The part number is LR078922 bought a few of them for my car & sister's Evoque.

The battery voltage replacement seems to be when it falls below 3.0v according to my multimeter (girlfriend's back pocket didn't work!). Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
