polish on plastic trim comes off with an pencil eraser or peanut butter (smooth not crunchy)

I have that problem on my surrounds and I put it down to the water droplets drying and leaving chemical residue or it could be the bleaching effect from the sun as the water dries, (not up North though!)

I've got this too on the rear window rubbers and I have put it down to the cleaning fluid they spray on before its jet washed at one of those drive in car washes......... |

i find smart dressing does the job,and lasts,as it will repeal water for a while. |

I have also noticed this and have tried Auto Glyn but this does not last long enough could it be poor wuality rubber |
