Seems you may be on to something sir. Found a recent TSB applicable to my vin that describes the installation of "resistive cable wires" in the headlights of vehicles fitted with halogen headlamps where owners have complained about bulbs blown at a low time in service. Going to pick up a couple bulbs on the way home and have a look tonight. If they are indeed blown, I'll replace them and order the special resistive wires to install, or just keep a spare set of bulbs handy. |

It's not always obvious that one headlight has blown - you still get a fair bit of light. Then if the other one goes it can seem that both went together. One of mine went recently and I didn't notice until I saw the reflection of the lights in a window while parking. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Thank again Freel2 contributors. Just had this exact failure. Normally if both sides don't work it would be a system failure (fuse, relay, short). I have never had a double headlight bulb failure. Everything is relative to my point of view |
