Anyone know where the HDD unit is? This is different to the disc drive unit normally found under the drivers seat and I need to dissect it to see if I can get it working....

That’s excellent thank you! It’s also incredibly bad news...sounds like mine has a permanent fault and needs a replacement unit...

That's not bad news, that's ridiculous......no fix and it never worked correctly from the get go? I'd do as suggested above and really tell JLR head office that this is unacceptable and likely will result in multiple lawsuits once you post your experience everywhere that let's you.

It’s looking like my 2013 HSE has the same problem, the seems to think I’m somewhere in the Netherlands(?).

I stand to be corrected but i understand the complete module needs replacing and they are both age specific and coded to the car thus you would need someone to re-programme it… thus it was far easier to ignore that one and use our phones!

My factory sat nav on my freelander2 is rubbish, so I use an 8inch tablet with google maps mounted on magnets attached to sat nav screenand charged via the usb port, works great |

That’s another option. Just think it’s bad for Landrover to have this on a relatively modern car and it turns out to be as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. |

I dont bother with the Sat Nav in my 2013 FL2 as its not easy to use and useless anyway. 35 yrs as a Truck driver I stick to good old maps less of a distraction and no silly female voices (apart from the the old boiler in the passenger seat !) 2013 FL2 XS.
